Christmas In July Art Workshop Event

Hi Friends!

Im happy to share with you  photos of my first workshop event held in my new studio.

Christmas In July.

It was definitely a festive cheery colorful site!

I know several online retailers promote Christmas In July so I thought why not jump on the bandwagon and create Christmas magic early.

The project for the workshop was vintage inspired tulle net Christmas Tree’s.

My dear friend Jennifer Grenko taught the workshop. She has mastered the art of making the darling tree’s that were once popular back in the 50’s and 60’s.

I have to say Jennifer looked so pretty wearing her vintage Christmas apron and tulle bouquet for the workshop.

The ladies has the option of choosing which color tree they wanted to make. Pink, white, or green.

I guess you can tell which was the popular choice.

The project involves alot of sewing so Jennifer was kind enough to make all the tree bases to save time, and the ladies hand sewed the netting for the top portion of the tree.

The ladies had oodles of pretty and shiny embellishments to decorate their tree’s with.

We had the most amazing group of ladies that attended!

Lavender Glamour Twinsies!

Debra Ganes brought her adorable Mother Ruth to join in on the workshop.

Ruth is extremely crafty and talented. Ever since she was young she’s spent her entire life making jewelry and crafting pretty things.

We took a mid day break to enjoy a luncheon at my home.

My Sugar Plum Fairy Dining Room.

Let me start off by saying I wouldn’t typically decorate my dining room this early for Christmas. However, my home will be on a neighborhood Christmas tour of homes this December so I figured it would be a wonderful opportunity to get a jump start on preparing for it as well.

I had a yummy variety of tea sandwiches and deserts!

Molly’s cafe a local Macon restaurant made the signature chicken salad, pasta salad, and apple salad.

The best in town!

I have to share that I purchased THE MOST adorable retro looking Christmas plates for the luncheon that you see on the table. Jennifer told me about the website and you can check them here. So cute!

Cupcakes!

I made the DIY cupcake picks using glitter paper from Michaels, lollipop sticks, and printed Christmas images from my personal collection.

The second part of the workshop was the most fun!

It was embellishing and adding the finishing touches.

How sweet are these vintage angels?

They each came from Jennifer’s personal collection.

At last the finished trees!

Each tree turned out so unique and pretty!

It will be a holiday treasure these ladies can display for years.

I want to personally thank Jennifer who did an INCREDIBLE  job instructing the class.

** Side note…Jennifer has had many inquiries in purchasing “how to” Christmas net tree kits. Jennifer will have them available soon in her Etsy shop. **
